Follow the Woman Bike Ride

Viewing the political impasse which Lebanon and the region are experiencing, Act for Lebanon and other civil community organizations join efforts in supporting an initiative for peace and solidarity commitments in the Middle East.

As many as 300 women, from 30 different countries, will take a peace tour on their bikes across the Middle East, under the “Follow the Woman” bike ride. Follow the Woman bike ride intends to help end violence and bloodshed in the region.

Part of this bike ride will cover all major cities in Lebanon between the 9th and the 12th of April, 2007. And the whole bike ride will cover the distance from Syria’s Aleppo to Palestine’s Ramallah from April 6th till the 18th of the same month.

The last day of the Lebanese journey, the 12th of April will be in Baalbeck, the City of the Sun. In Baalbeck the riders will be hosted by Act for Lebanon for a tour in the city and its archeological sites, and for a community lunch before they depart to Damascus.

Act for Lebanon NGO through its support to “follow the Woman” bike ride, and through the different projects Act for Lebanon is undertaking, longs for building a healthier community and providing better conditions for the Lebanese citizens.
